The last week in November was beautiful so we decided to take the boys "hiking" at Piere Marquette State Park in Grafton for the first time. It was a really awesome time.
When we got there Joe grabbed a big "walking" stick to "protect" us so Reece had one too. I do need to mention that Reece brought a "medical" bag that contained his gun "just in case we saw a bear." Reece used his walking stick for the entire hike but traded it off for new ones along the way.
At first Adam grabbed a stick too...it was about 4 inches long and he leaned over so he could use it as a walking stick...pretty funny. After we laughed about that we helped him to find a more appropriately sized stick.
We hiked for about an hour but with two little guys we did not get very far. There were a lot of downed trees to climb over(which they loved) and of course uneven ground. Numerous times Adam wanted to be carried so he got little breaks along the way but we wanted to tire him out so we just walked slow enough for his pace. At the end of the hike we found a little spot for a juice/snack break and we were on our way to lunch.

We found a winery...it was lunch time...that overlooked the river and the main road. The boys loved watching and counting the loud motorcycles that drove past below us on the road. Joe and I chatted about how we used to spend saturday afternoons checking out places like this and enjoying the wine. Times have changed but I would not have changed that moment for anything in the world. Sitting outside at the end of November, in the sun, overlooking the river as a family...wow!
